The Center for Dialog & Resolution provides facilitated Settlement Conferences for both District & Superior Court. These cases are facilitated by attorneys or facilitative mediators with advanced training who volunteer their time and who have been trained in mediation practices at the Center.
Their role is to be directive and evaluative to help the parties work through their issues in order to avoid going to trial, if at all possible.
Some of the benefits to becoming a volunteer Settlement Conference Panelist include the opportunity to serve the South Sound community, to network with attorneys, trainers, and other Center mediation practitioners as well as receive ongoing skills training in conflict resolution.
4-Hour Settlement Conference Panelist Training includes:
- Standards of Conduct
- Local Court Rules
- Working with Pro Se Parties
- Uniform Mediation Act RCW 7.07
- Superior & District Court cases
- CLE Credits 3.0 (1.0 Ethics)
The Center provides CLEs in exchange for those who commit to serve on the Panel.
