Thank you McGavick Graves

MG Logo 071112We’d like to take this time to give a very special thank you to our friends at McGavick Graves Attorneys at Law for their pro-bono assistance with the Cy Pres Award.  Because of their dedication and support the Center for Dialog and Resolution will be able to begin working with inmates to assist with their reentry back into the community.

CDR will be able to provide incarcerated individuals with over the phone mediation to assist with parenting decisions, financial realities, housing and other issues that might need to be resolved during their incarceration.  CDR will be actively working with community groups to support Ex-Offenders with reentry programs and offering training that will promote conflict resolution skills among prison staff and prisoners.  In addition, this work will consist of collaborations with organizations and community partners to create a peaceful community dialogue, as well as helping to create good neighbor agreements within communities.

The Cy Pres award will allow CDR to work with the Pierce County Juvenile Court system to offer a community based conflict resolution course.   This will include a diversion resource such as training, parent-and-teen mediation as well as ongoing exploration of inventive restorative justice responses with incarcerated youth.

Once again we would like to thank all the hard work and effort of McGavick Graves Attorneys at Law for making all of this possible.
