Q: What inspires you to be a Center for Dialog & Resolution Team Member?
A: I am inspired by the goal of a more empathetic and compassionate society. It is amazing to see the transformative power of the listening and communication skills that we teach in our trainings and model in our mediations and facilitations. I believe that the more people have these skills, the better our world will be.
Q: How does mediation, group facilitation, and training at the Center for Dialog &
Resolution help people in Pierce County and beyond?
A: Conflict can seem scary, especially if you think you have to face it all on your own. Our services help members of our community realize that they do not have to tackle conflict alone or unprepared. Mediations provide a forum for community members to talk through their conflicts and work toward finding their own solutions, and our trainings empower them with the skills they need to approach conflicts in their own lives with confidence.
Q: If you were an animal, which one would you be and why?
A: I would be a hummingbird, because they spend most of their time among flowers, can get from place to place very quickly, and have beautiful iridescent plumage.
