Q: What inspires you to be a Center for Dialog & Resolution Team Member?

A: Conflict is a part of what makes us creatures of the earth. It is both humbling and a privilege to work with a team that embraces individuals at their most vulnerable—welcoming their deepest shames, negative emotions, and resentments through our doors (both physical and virtual)—and helping them leave as more empowered and content members of our community. Effectively communicating the confidential nature of our work to the public is a unique challenge, and I'm honored to use my expertise to share our resources and services to the community.

Q: How does mediation, group facilitation, and training at the Center for Dialog &

Resolution help people in Pierce County and beyond?

A: As a form of alternative dispute resolution, mediation offers a chance for brave people to come together and have a difficult conversation. The presence of an impartial third party offers people a safety net that may not otherwise be there under normal circumstances. Mediators and group facilitators help manage time and ensure conversations get to the root of conflicts at hand.

Q: If you were an animal, which one would you be and why?

A: I would be a snail because, while they are nomadic, they have everything they need with them on their back.
