Annual Report 2024

2024 Annual Report - 30 Years Cultivating Pearls of Resolution

Since 1994, community members have invested time and effort to becoming certified mediators. Since 1994, members of our community have requested support to work through their conflicts. Since 1994, countless people and organizations have donated money to keep our work going.

Pearls, the result of a bit of grit that is transformed over time, are the gem that symbolizes 30 years of commitment. We share our journey and the successes of our 30th year in our Center for Dialog & Resolution 2024 Annual Report (PDF).

1

Expand our entire community’s access to resolution and justice.

Finances should not be a barrier to mediation. Your investment will ensure all who need dispute resolution have access regardless of their ability to fully fund the cost of mediation.

2

Build a diverse mediator corps to reflect the people we serve.

Imagine the impact of mediators, trainers and facilitators who more closely represent the people accessing CDR's services.

3

Create equitable pathways to mediation and facilitation training.

We must increase the number of people who develop the skills needed to facilitate peaceful dialog.

4

Ensure conflict resolution services in our community for the next 25 years.

Fulfill our community's need for social justice and equity innovation for many years to come.

Roots

In 1994, members of the Pierce County community recognized the need for innovative and affordable ways to resolve differences.

The American Leadership Forum, in consultation with the local Bar Association and the Pierce County court system, created the Pierce County Center for Dispute Resolution (PCCDR) as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. PCCDR provided a space other than the courtroom where people could resolve their disputes.

In 2015, we formally changed our name to the Center for Dialog & Resolution. The name better reflects our services and approach for supporting people as they reach agreements.
